Stekník Chateau is a rococo gem perched on the edge of the Ohře river valley, just a few kilometers from Žatec. With its ornate frescoes, intimate chapel and stepped Italian garden, it offers visitors a charming glimpse into 18th-century aristocratic life.

The chateau sits on the rim of a shallow valley, surrounded by terraced gardens adorned with rococo vases and sculptures. The setting feels peaceful and picturesque throughout the year — blooming gardens in spring and summer, golden hop fields nearby in autumn, and a quiet, almost storybook atmosphere in winter. It's a relaxed destination, perfect for a leisurely walk combined with an interior tour.

How to get there

• Žatec — approximately 6 km east, via local road, flat terrain, easy access
• The village of Stekník lies in the Louny district and is also reachable by local public transport from Žatec

In 2016, the fairy-tale film Slíbená princezna was filmed at the chateau, and its rococo interiors still enchant visitors with original stucco decorations and allegorical paintings.
