The Chomutov Town Hall is a fascinating architectural complex right in the heart of the city - a blend of the early Gothic Church of Saint Catherine, a former commandery of the Teutonic Knights, and a Renaissance castle. It's a place where seven centuries of history are layered together, from a knightly stronghold to a noble residence to today's town hall.

Walking around the complex, you can spot traces of many eras: Gothic cellar walls, a bricked-up pointed window, and a Renaissance portal decorated with the coats of arms of the Veitmile and Glac families. The atmosphere is intimate and historic, and the town center is pleasant to explore in any season - in summer beneath the shade of old walls, in winter when the stone façades stand out against the snow.
