Čihadlo is a quiet, view-rich summit in the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory), rising to 842 metres right along the German border. It's the kind of peak that rewards those willing to wander off the main tourist trails for a genuinely peaceful mountain experience.

The landscape here is classic Ore Mountains terrain — dense forests, granite boulders, and sweeping views that stretch well into German territory. From the summit you can see the Schwarzwasser valley and the Dreibrüderhöhe on the horizon, the rocks of the Steinhübel, and the town of Sayda. Looking toward Rübenau, you'll spot its hamlets and church, while the Schwartenberg rises on the eastern horizon alongside the higher-situated houses of Seiffen. To the south stretches the main ridge of the Ore Mountains, with the view closing near the houses of Niedernatzschung and the Czech village of Kalek. In winter the summit feels wonderfully remote and snow-dusted; in summer it's wrapped in green forest — a rewarding hike in any season.

How to reach the summit

• Načetín (part of the village of Kalek) — via forest roads, approx. 30-40 minutes, easy difficulty
• The final stretch to the highest point has no marked trail and leads through open forest terrain

Good to know

• The summit is marked by a stone height marker — the former Station 84 of the Royal Saxon Triangulation
• The original stone was badly weathered and has been replaced with a faithful replica

The name Čihadlo (German: Lauschhübel or Steinel) hints at the hill's historic role as a lookout point — a nice detail for anyone interested in the history of surveying and cartography.
