The Reiterhaus in Neusalza-Spremberg is one of the oldest and most picturesque timber-framed 'Umgebindehaus' buildings in the entire Upper Lusatia region. Built before 1660 as a small farmer's cottage, this heritage-listed building now houses a local history museum and offers a genuine glimpse into 19th-century rural life in Lusatia.

Its thatched roof and the colorful wooden horseman figure perched on the gable of the west wing make it instantly recognizable. The house sits right on the Bundesstraße 96, surrounded by the quiet village character of Neusalza-Spremberg, and its timber construction looks particularly charming framed by greenery in spring and summer.
