Jitrovník (510 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forested hill in the Šluknov Highlands of northern Bohemia, close to the German border. Since 2026 it has been home to a brand-new 31-metre steel observation tower — the northernmost lookout tower in the entire Czech Republic, making it a genuinely special destination even for seasoned hikers.

The hill is almost entirely cloaked in coniferous and mixed forest, giving it a peaceful, sheltered atmosphere in every season. The lower slopes towards the village of Království open up into agricultural land, offering a pleasant contrast between fields and forest. From the new tower the views sweep across the rolling Šluknov Highlands and reach into neighbouring Germany — a rewarding panorama in a corner of Bohemia that remains blissfully uncrowded. Autumn colours here are particularly striking.

The very same eastern summit hosted a 24-metre wooden tower as far back as 1888, until a violent storm brought it down in 1903 — the hill has waited over a century for its second lookout.
