Probiy Waterfall is one of the most powerful and dramatic waterfalls in the Ukrainian Carpathians — a cascading drop on the Prut River that stops every visitor in their tracks. Sitting at the lower end of the Yaremche canyon, Probiy owes its existence to hard erosion-resistant sandstones that force the Prut to leap rather than flow. The atmosphere here shifts beautifully with the seasons — lush green surroundings in summer, fiery foliage in autumn, and icy, almost otherworldly rock formations in winter. Just below the waterfall the river widens into a calmer, deeper pool, offering a lovely spot to linger and soak in the scenery.
