Rakuski Przechód (2023 m) is a scenic mountain pass in the Slovak High Tatras, sitting right on the famous Tatra Magistrale trail. It offers sweeping views over the Kežmarok Valley and the Belianske Tatras — a rewarding stop that connects two beautiful alpine valleys.

The pass lies within the Rakuska Ridge, nestled between Rakuska Čuba and Rakuska Kopa. The terrain is grassy and partly scree-covered, relatively gentle by High Tatra standards. The panorama stretching across the Kežmarok Valley and the Belianske Tatras ridge is especially stunning in autumn. In summer it makes a perfect resting spot along the trail, while in winter caution is essential — the slopes on the Kežmarok Valley side carry a serious avalanche risk.

• Green Lake hut (Zelené pleso) — red trail, approx. 1 h 35 min uphill / 45 min downhill, moderate

• In winter, the approach from the Huncovská Valley and Lomnica Valley side is considerably safer — the Kežmarok Valley side has avalanche-prone terrain.
• The ridge walk between Rakuska Prielom and Rakuski Przechód takes about 10 minutes and is straightforward, though unmarked.

This pass has been used by travellers since at least the early 17th century, serving as a key crossing between neighbouring valleys — making it one of the oldest mountain routes in the Tatras.
