Slavkovský štít (2452 m a.s.l.) is one of the most rewarding summits in the High Tatras — a broad, commanding peak that offers some of the finest panoramic views in the entire range, yet remains accessible to fit hikers without technical climbing skills. It holds the distinction of being the third highest Tatra peak open to regular tourists.

The mountain's northeastern slopes rise a staggering 950 metres above their base — one of the greatest relative heights in the Tatras — giving the peak an imposing presence both from below and from the top. From the summit, the view sweeps across the Veľká Studená dolina valley and its many alpine lakes, while to the south the entire Spiš Basin unfolds, with Kežmarok, Podolínec and Spišská Sobota clearly visible on a fine day. In summer the ridge trail is adorned with rich alpine flora, while winter turns the mountain into a serious, frosty challenge best suited to experienced hikers.

• A funicular railway runs from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, cutting the initial ascent significantly.
• A viewpoint platform called 'Maximilianká' stands along the Slavkovský Hrebeň ridge section of the trail.
• The summit lies entirely in Slovakia within TANAP (Tatra National Park) — park regulations apply.

This peak holds a remarkable historical record: the ascent made here in July 1664 is considered the first documented climb of a specific, named Tatra peak — and the route taken then, along the eastern ridge via Slavkovský Nos, is the very same trail you can follow today.
