Bukovets Pass is a gentle, open mountain saddle in the Pokutian-Bukovynian Carpathians of western Ukraine, sitting at around 810 metres above sea level. It is a perfect gateway to some of the most unspoiled scenery in this quiet corner of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

What makes this pass so appealing is its wide, open character — the slopes are comparatively gentle and only lightly forested, with broad meadows stretching across the hillsides. In spring the grasslands burst into colour, summer brings a peaceful, pastoral atmosphere, and autumn coats everything in warm golden tones. The pass sits on the watershed between the Rybnytsia and Chorny Cheremosh rivers, giving it a quiet sense of being at a natural boundary between two worlds.

• From the village of Bukovets — the pass is crossed by road R24 (Kosiv–Verkhovyna), making it easily accessible by car or local bus.

• The pass is accessible year-round via road R24.
• This is the starting point for the trail to Pysanyj Kamin, a protected natural rock formation.
• From here you can also hike to the Ihrec ridge with its summit Ihrec (1311 m) and to Bukovets Waterfall.

The pass takes its name directly from the neighbouring village of Bukovets. Its role as a trailhead for several local routes makes it far more than just a road crossing — it is the natural hub of outdoor adventure in this area.
