Rozpadliny is one of the smaller eastern side valleys of the Bielovodská Valley in the High Tatras — a wild, forested hollow that remains entirely off-limits to visitors and untouched by tourist trails. If you are looking for a glimpse of the Tatras in their most pristine, unvisited state, this is it.

The valley opens toward the northwest, situated above the upper southern part of Bielovodská Meadow, and is enclosed by the ridges of Horvátov vrch. It stretches for about 1 km. Most of its length is covered by dense forest, while the upper parts beneath the ridges reveal bare, rocky terrain. At the valley's mouth lie two charming meadows — Nižná Tropova poľana and Vyšná Tropova poľana — collectively known as the Tropové poľanky. These sunny clearings are the only open spots in this otherwise enclosed, forested valley, glowing golden in autumn and fresh green in spring.

• The valley is closed to tourists — there are no hiking trails leading into Rozpadliny.

• Rozpadliny is a strict nature reserve of TANAP (Tatra National Park) — entry for visitors is not permitted.

The name 'Rozpadliny' refers to the weathered, crumbling surface of the terrain — and the rocky upper sections truly live up to it. Centuries ago the valley served as a hunting ground for the Javorina estate; today it belongs entirely to the wildlife of the High Tatras.
