Park-šuma Golubinjak is a small forest park in the karst region of Gorski Kotar, tucked right next to the Rijeka-Zagreb motorway, just 1 km from the center of Lokve. It's a peaceful pocket of nature where rocky limestone blocks and old trees create a truly atmospheric setting.
Walking trails wind through beech, fir and spruce forest, weaving between stone blocks that give the whole area a wild, ancient feel. The undisputed star of the park is a giant fir tree nicknamed 'Kraljica šume' (Queen of the Forest) - over 250 years old, standing more than 35 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 140 cm. In summer the forest offers cool shade, while in autumn the colors are especially striking. Don't miss the rock opening known as 'Paklena vrata' (Hell's Gate), and two caves - Ledena (Ice Cave) and Golubinja - which add a touch of mystery to the walk.
