The Sowie Mountains Landscape Park is one of the most rewarding hiking destinations in the Polish Sudetes — a place where ancient geology, dramatic ridgelines and pristine beech forests come together in a surprisingly compact area. Nowhere else in Poland will you find such a concentration of contrasting landscapes packed into a single park.

Stretching roughly 25 km along the main ridge, the park encompasses the highest summits of the Sowie Mountains: Wielka Sowa (1015 m), Kalenica and Słoneczna. The steep north-eastern slopes are carved by picturesque valleys and waterfalls, while the upper ridge offers sweeping panoramas across the Central Sudetes. Forests cover 94% of the park — spruce and beech dominate, with remnants of the ancient Sudetic forest still surviving here. Autumn paints the beeches in gold and crimson, winter brings snowy silence to the ridges, and spring carpets the forest floor with rare wildflowers like the spring snowflake and mezereon.

The Sowie Mountains are built from the oldest rocks in the entire Sudetes — Precambrian gneisses and migmatites hundreds of millions of years old, giving this landscape its raw, timeless character.
