Conradswiese is a small settlement and nature reserve tucked into the western Ore Mountains, where a forest meadow meets mixed mountain woodland at around 645 metres above sea level. It's a quiet spot for travellers who want to escape the crowds and enjoy a slice of history dating back to the 17th century.

The landscape here is defined by an open forest clearing surrounded by classic Bergmischwald - the mixed mountain forest typical of the Ore Mountains. In summer the meadow buzzes with insects and wildflowers, autumn brings rich woodland colours, and winter transforms the area into a peaceful, snow-covered retreat. It's a pleasant destination year-round, though winter conditions on the trails can be more demanding.

• Alter Jägerhäuser Weg (Old Jägerhaus Trail) — leads to Jägerhaus, approx. 3.5 km, difficulty: moderate

Good to know

• The area is a protected nature reserve, so please respect rules protecting local flora and fauna
• Nearby lies the watershed between the Zwickauer Mulde and the Schwarzwasser rivers, as well as a spot known as Tränktrögel
• A forest school (Waldschulheim), run by Sachsenforst, operates on site and hosts educational forest activities for young people

Fun fact: the former forester's house, first mentioned as a simple tavern in 1839, was for decades a popular excursion inn before becoming the forest education centre it is today.
