Poronin is a village in the Podhale region, just 7 km from Zakopane, right along the main road leading toward the Tatra Mountains. It's a great place to pause before heading into the mountains, or to use as a quieter alternative base for exploring the region.

The surrounding landscape is classic Podhale countryside - gentle hills, open views toward the Tatras, and a relaxed mountain atmosphere that changes with the seasons, drawing skiers in winter and hikers in summer. Despite its proximity to busy Zakopane, Poronin has kept its traditional, laid-back character.

By the volunteer fire station there's a football pitch and a local team, a small sign of the authentic community spirit that still defines Poronin.
