Troglav (1913 m) is the highest peak of the Dinara mountain range and the highest point in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Named after Triglav, a three-headed deity from Slavic mythology, this rugged summit offers one of the wildest hiking experiences in the Balkans.
The Troglav massif stretches around 30 km long and 15 km wide, forming a harsh, rocky highland with deep valleys and bare limestone ridges. On clear days the summit rewards hikers with sweeping views across Bosnia and Herzegovina and, in the distance, toward the Croatian coast. The terrain above the treeline feels remote and exposed, with a stark, high-mountain character. Summers bring dry, sun-baked trails, while winter blankets the ridges in snow and strong wind, amplifying the sense of isolation.
