Tatarów is a modest but charming peak in the Gorce Mountains that offers a lovely view over the town of Rabka-Zdrój at its foot. It's a great choice for hikers looking for a short, rewarding walk without hours of climbing.
The ridge on which Tatarów sits runs from Bardo through Maciejowa and down to Rabka, gently descending toward the valley. The slopes are partly forested and partly covered with farmland belonging to the nearby villages of Rabka-Zdrój and Ponice, giving the area a peaceful, rural feel. In spring and summer you'll get nice views over the Rabka Basin, while autumn paints the surrounding forests in warm colors. In winter the trail turns quiet and cozy - a good option for a calm Sunday walk away from the crowds.
How to reach the summitThe name of the spring, Zimne Serce (Cold Heart), sounds like something out of a fairy tale - and it truly is a charming little spot worth a short detour on your way up.
