Sokolica (1,367 m a.s.l.) is one of the finest viewpoints in the entire Babia Góra massif — and one of the most accessible spots in the Babia Góra National Park. It is not a classic pointed summit but rather a broad rocky platform along the ridge, and it is precisely this natural terrace that rewards visitors with a truly stunning panorama.

From the paved and fenced viewing platform, you can take in the full ridge of Babia Góra, the peaks of the Silesian Beskids (Barania Góra, Skrzyczne, Klimczok), the Jałowiec Range, the Polica Range, the Little and Makowski Beskids, and the picturesque village of Zawoja spread out in the valley below. The platform owes its open views to a massive rockfall that occurred several hundred years ago — the resulting cliff face, tens of metres high on the north-western side, keeps the forest from blocking the outlook. In summer it is a pleasant family excursion, in autumn the beech forest blazes with colour, and in winter the frost-covered platform takes on a raw, Alpine feel.

• Szkolnikowe Rozstaje junction — green trail ('Perć Przyrodników' / Naturalists' Path), approx. 40 min up / 30 min down, difficulty: moderate (steep northern slopes)

• Sokolica lies within Babia Góra National Park — leaving marked trails is prohibited.
• The summit platform has benches and information boards of the 'Footsteps of Wawrzyniec Szkolnik' educational trail.
• The red trail through Sokolica is one of the most popular routes up to Diablak (the main summit) — expect crowds during peak season.

The name 'Sokolica' means 'falcon place' — in the second half of the 19th century a golden eagle nested in the cliff here, but local people mistook it for a falcon, and the name stuck ever since.
