Rysianka (1322 m a.s.l.) is one of the most rewarding summits in the Żywiec-Orava Beskids — an open alpine meadow, a cosy mountain hut and a major trail junction all rolled into one. Whether you are looking for a satisfying day hike or a hub for longer routes across the range, this peak delivers on both counts.

The mountain is almost entirely forested, but two clearings break the canopy and steal the show. Just below the true summit lies the Kaziorka glade, while lower on the north-eastern slopes spreads the large and panoramic Hala Rysianka meadow — the social and scenic heart of the area. The upper slopes are draped in subalpine spruce forest; the trees here grow near the upper limit of their range, many of them stunted and weathered, giving the landscape a raw, windswept feel. On the ridge between Rysianka and the neighbouring Lipowski Wierch there is an approximately 200-metre-long peat bog dotted with wet hollows and small pools — a rare find in this part of the Beskids. In winter the area transforms into a quietly snowy retreat; spring and autumn bring vivid colour to the hillsides.

The ridge of Rysianka forms the administrative boundary between the villages of Złatna and Żabnica, and together with neighbouring Lipowski Wierch the massif is a recognisable landmark visible from a wide area across the western Beskids.
