Okrąglica (1239 m) is one of the most intriguing peaks of the Policy Range, famous for a hidden chapel in the woods and wild rocky crevices near the summit. This is a place for hikers seeking more than just a view — atmosphere and a bit of mystery come with it too.

The area around the summit has a distinctly wild character — small caves and rock crevices make exploring here feel like a real mountain adventure. The slopes are forested, and the headwaters of the Skawica Sołtysia stream flow down the northern side. In summer it's a quiet, secluded spot, while in winter the snow and silence emphasize the raw character of this corner of the Żywiec Beskids.

How to reach the summit

• Main Beskid Trail (from Kucałowa Przełęcz saddle) — traverses the southern slope, from where a forest road leads up to a clearing with the chapel and transmitter mast, moderate walk
• Route Jordanów – Bystra Podhalańska – Drobny Wierch – Judaszka – Malinowe Pass – Naroże – Soska – Krupówka – Urwanica – Okrąglica – Kucałowa Przełęcz — total ascent 830 m, total descent 170 m, hiking time 5 hours, return 4 h 15 min, demanding route requiring good fitness

Practical information

• No marked trail leads directly to the summit — it's reached via an unmarked path
• Just below the top stands the Chapel of Our Lady, Patroness of Tourists, secretly built in 1987, with epitaphs commemorating mountain people who died in the hills
• On the first Sunday of October a mass is held here for participants of the Kraków PTTK hiking rally
• A telecommunications mast stands next to the chapel

Fun fact: for a long time, the path leading to the chapel was known only to those in the know, giving this place an almost legendary, secretive character.
