Magurka is a quiet, unassuming peak in the Mędralowa Group, tucked between the Klekociny Pass and Kolisty Groń. It's the perfect pick for hikers who want beautiful Beskid meadow views without the crowds that flock to more famous summits.

The defining feature here is Hala Kamińskiego, a broad meadow stretching across Magurka's north-western slopes all the way to the top. From the summit you get a panorama similar to the view from Hala Mędralowa — though you'll need to walk a short distance from one side of the peak to the other to take it all in. In summer the meadow glows green under open skies, while in winter it becomes a hushed, snowy expanse perfect for those craving solitude. The ridge of Magurka also marks the border between Zawoja and Przyborów — between the Małopolska and Silesia regions — so a walk along the top literally means stepping across two provinces.

• Zawoja Czatoża — trail leading to Magurka and onward to Korbielów, moderate difficulty
• Section via Koszarawa Cicha, Czerniawa Sucha and the Klekociny Pass, continuing over Kolisty Groń and Mędralowa toward Jałowiecka Pass and Mała Babia Góra

Practical information

• Maps and some guidebooks mistakenly label this peak as Kolisty Groń — the true Kolisty Groń lies about a kilometre to the south-west
• The name Magurka appears as early as the writings of Andrzej Komoniecki in the late 17th–early 18th century

The name Magurka has ancient Vlach roots, and some researchers suggest calling it Magurka Wełczowska — after the nearby hamlet of Wełcza — to distinguish it from the many other peaks sharing the same name across the Beskids.
