Klimova (1,492 m a.s.l.) is a rewarding summit in the Chervona Polonyna massif of Transcarpathian Ukraine — a mountain that greets you with a wide open alpine meadow at the top and a sense of true wilderness that is increasingly rare in the Carpathians. Above 1,200 m the mountain opens up into a broad polonyna — a sweeping grassy highland typical of these Ukrainian Carpathians — with open views along the main ridge. To the west lies the neighbouring summit of Hropa (1,495 m), while to the east the ridge drops through Mala Klimova (1,361 m) down towards the Mokrianka river valley. In summer the meadows are lush and flower-filled; in autumn the beech forests that cloak the lower slopes turn spectacular shades of gold and amber. Below 1,200 m a dense beech forest makes for a beautiful, shaded approach walk in any season.

The northern slopes of Klimova give rise to the Klymovets and Skoruchuvaty streams, both feeding the Mokrianka river — a quiet valley where the pace of mountain life feels refreshingly unhurried.
