Kiełek (960 m a.s.l.) is a quietly compelling forested summit tucked away in the village of Sidzina in the Sucha Beskidzka district of southern Poland. According to the classical geographical classification by Kondracki, it holds the title of the highest peak in the Orawa-Podhale Beskid — a modest but genuine claim to fame for those who love off-the-beaten-path destinations.

The mountain sits along the south-eastern ridge of Polica and is almost entirely blanketed by dense forest. Only its south-eastern lower slopes open up to reveal farmland and the rooftops of Sidzina below. The surrounding terrain is shaped by several streams — Sidzinka to the south-west, Ciśniawka to the north-west, and Mików Potok and Czarnów Potok cutting into the eastern slopes. The atmosphere here is wonderfully quiet: deep green shade in summer, spectacular foliage in autumn, and a peaceful snowbound hush in winter. There are no marked hiking trails leading to the summit, making every visit a small adventure of its own.
