Geier stands at 2857 m, making it the second-highest peak in the Tux Alps — a mountain located right at the crossroads of four valleys: Schmirntal, Navistal, Tuxer Tal and Wattental. It's a rewarding summit for hikers who want big views without extreme technical climbing.

Unlike its dramatic neighbor, the much craggier Lizumer Reckner (the highest peak in the Tux Alps, just 450 meters away), Geier offers gentler, more approachable terrain. From the top, expansive views open up across the surrounding valleys and ridgelines. About 400 meters southeast of the summit lies the scenic Junssee, a lake roughly 200 by 100 meters at around 2660 m. In winter, the mountain becomes a popular ski touring destination, while in summer it draws hikers looking for space and quiet.
