Vizovice Castle is one of the finest Baroque residences in Moravia — a graceful U-shaped three-wing manor set in the heart of the small town of Vizovice, just 15 km from Zlín. What makes it truly special is the remarkably well-preserved interior: walk through rooms furnished with Baroque, Rococo, Empire and Biedermeier pieces, and discover an outstanding picture gallery that includes a rare collection of Dutch paintings.

The castle was built in the second half of the 18th century at the initiative of Bishop Heřman Hannibal Blümegen, designed by architect František Antonín Grimm. The surrounding park — a blend of English landscape garden and French formal garden — is open year-round and decorated with sculptures by Ondřej Schweigl, a master of Moravian sculpture. In spring the park bursts into bloom, in summer it offers cool shade, and in autumn the colours are simply wonderful for a leisurely stroll.

History runs deep here: before the Baroque castle was built, a Cistercian monastery founded as early as 1261 stood on this very spot — making Vizovice one of the oldest continuously occupied aristocratic sites in Moravia.
