Josefův Důl Chateau is an abandoned neo-Renaissance mansion that tells the story of Bohemia's textile industry heritage. Though the building is now decaying under private ownership, its imposing silhouette still fascinates visitors interested in industrial history and forgotten places.

The chateau stands within what was once an English-style park, with its southern facade originally facing the greenery. The atmosphere here is one of quiet melancholy - overgrown grounds, remnants of former grandeur, and a stillness that invites reflection on the passage of time. Autumn is a particularly striking season to visit, when the park's foliage turns golden, while spring brings the surrounding nature back to life around the crumbling walls. Keep in mind that the chateau is privately owned and in a state of disrepair, so visits are limited to viewing from the outside.

• The village of Josefův Důl in the Mladá Boleslav region - accessible by local road, a short walk through the village takes just a few minutes, easy difficulty
• Alternatively, a walk from nearby Kosmonos, from where the textile production was moved here in 1763

An interesting fact is that the chateau was built as the residence of Baron Bedřich Leitenberger, a textile industrialist, and a tragic family loss later led to the estate being sold to the Cosmanos joint-stock company.
