Hidden in the peaceful Račí Valley in the Rychlebské Mountains, Tančírna is a delightful surprise — an Art Nouveau dance hall nestled deep in a forested mountain valley. It's the kind of place that makes you stop and think: what is this elegant building doing here? And that's exactly what makes it so special.

The Račí Valley near Javorník is a gentle, green retreat perfect for an easy walk through the woods. Tančírna sits along the valley trail and charms visitors in every season — lush and cool in summer, painted in warm colours come autumn. The building itself, constructed between 1906 and 1907 as a restaurant, guesthouse and ballroom, carries a wonderful Art Nouveau elegance that feels wonderfully out of place — and yet completely at home in these hills.

• Tančírna is owned by the municipality of Bernartice and was reopened after full restoration on 24 July 2015.

The ballroom was originally commissioned by Georg von Kopp, Bishop of Wrocław, and named 'Georgshalle' in his honour. After decades of decline and a series of unlikely owners — including Czechoslovak State Railways — the village of Bernartice brought this Art Nouveau gem back to life.
