Tucked deep into the forests of the Skolivski Beskydy massif, the Sukil-Nabyvkivskyi Waterfall is a rewarding 5-metre cascade for those willing to venture a little further off the beaten path. It sits roughly 3.5 km beyond the edge of the village of Sukil, near the slopes of Mount Nabyvky (1,265 m), and that extra distance keeps the crowds away and the atmosphere wonderfully wild.

The surroundings are everything you would hope for in the Ukrainian Carpathians — dense conifer forest, mossy boulders and the cool, damp air of a narrow stream valley. The waterfall is at its most dramatic after heavy rainfall or during the spring snowmelt, when the stream runs full and the cascade sends a fine mist into the air. Even in drier summer months, the forest walk alone makes the trip worthwhile.
