The Paßklausenturm is a stone tower in Tannenberg near Geyer in the Ore Mountains, the last surviving remnant of a former moated castle. This modest but history-rich structure once guarded the trade road passing through the mountains toward Bohemia.

Practical information

• The tower is today about 14 meters tall

The tower's name suggests that a rest stop or inn may once have stood here for travelers crossing the mountain pass. In 1770, fragments of a broken bell, possibly from a chapel within the castle grounds, were discovered among the ruins.
