Tucked away in a quiet Subcarpathian village near Dukla, the Lemko Culture Open-Air Museum in Zyndranowa is one of those rare places that feels genuinely personal rather than staged. It was built from scratch by one passionate man — Teodor Gocz — who spent decades collecting and preserving the heritage of the Lemko people, a Rusyn community with a fascinating and often tragic history. Walking through this homestead, you feel like a guest in a living memory.

The museum occupies an authentic late-19th-century Lemko farmstead and the surrounding Subcarpathian landscape adds to the atmosphere beautifully.
