The Historical Museum in Sanok is a truly remarkable place — it holds the world's largest collection of works by Zdzisław Beksiński, over 200 Carpathian icons, and a unique collection of Pokuttya ceramics, all housed within a royal castle built in the reign of King Casimir the Great. The castle and its surrounding park create a wonderfully atmospheric setting. In summer, the castle grounds are lush and inviting; in autumn, the stone walls take on a warm golden hue; and in winter, the quieter galleries allow you to truly absorb the extraordinary art on display. The Beksiński Gallery, located in the restored southern wing of the castle, is a haunting and unforgettable experience at any time of year.
