Near the village of Zámoly, tucked away from the busy trails, stand the ruins of a medieval rotunda church - the only remaining trace of the once-thriving village of Kerekszenttamás. It's a quiet, atmospheric spot for anyone who enjoys history without the crowds, with stone walls dating back nearly nine centuries still rising four to five meters into the sky.

The surroundings have a peaceful, rural character - gentle hills, open fields and a stillness broken only by the wind. In summer, the ruins are framed by greenery and sunlight, while in autumn the landscape turns golden, making for a particularly scenic visit at sunset. In winter, when frost or snow covers the fields, the old walls take on an especially haunting charm.

How to get there

• Zámoly — along the road toward Gánt, on the western side of the highway, an easy walk of about 15-20 minutes from the village
• It's also possible to drive nearby and continue on foot along a field track

• The rotunda ruins date back to the 12th century and are the only surviving trace of the medieval village of Kerekszenttamás

The village was first mentioned in 1321 and passed through the hands of several noble families, but since the mid-16th century it has stood abandoned - today only the stone rotunda remains as a reminder of this lost settlement.
