The Ore Mountains Museum in Annaberg-Buchholz is a treasure trove of regional folk art, silver mining history and centuries-old craftsmanship, all gathered under one roof right across from St. Anne's Church.

Wandering through the exhibits feels like stepping into the everyday life of old Annaberg - a town that grew rich on silver mining. You'll find carved figures, bobbin lace, passementerie work, pewter vessels and even a work from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Younger dating to 1572. The museum's cozy, historic rooms are especially atmospheric in winter, when the cold outside makes the warm, wood-paneled interiors feel like a step back in time to a traditional farmhouse parlor.
