The Saxon Wine Hiking Trail winds for roughly 93 kilometers through one of Germany's most picturesque river valleys - the Elbe Valley - past terraced vineyards, castles and viewpoints that make this route a favorite among hikers who love combining nature with wine culture.

Marked in red (#e53e3e), the trail runs along the right bank of the Elbe, connecting Pirna, Dresden, Radebeul, Meißen and Diesbar-Seußlitz. It follows the vineyards, sometimes right by the river but mostly halfway up the slopes or along the edge of the Elbe Valley, offering sweeping views over the valley below. Along the way you'll pass through Pillnitz, Loschwitz, Dresden-Neustadt, Coswig, Weinböhla and the Spaargebirge before reaching Meißen. The full route is typically split into six stages of 15-18 km each, taking about 5-6 hours per stage.
