The PTTK hut at Chochołowska Glade is the largest mountain hut in the Polish Tatras — and one of those rare places that feels like a real reward the moment you arrive. Sitting at 1146 m above sea level in the heart of the wide, sun-drenched Chochołowska Glade, surrounded by the peaks of the Western Tatras, it is the perfect base for exploring one of the most beautiful valleys in the entire range.

Chochołowska Valley has something to offer in every season. Spring brings famous crocus blooms across the meadows, summer is lush and green, autumn turns everything golden, and winter wraps the valley in peaceful white silence. The hut is open year-round, so there is never a wrong time to visit. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming — the kind of place you will want to return to.

• Yellow trail to Grześ peak — approx. 1 h 30 min up, moderate.

A lovely historical footnote: Pope John Paul II visited the Chochołowska Valley during his second pilgrimage to Poland in June 1983 — a commemorative plaque at the hut entrance and the scenic 'Papal Trail' in Jarząbcza Valley both mark the occasion.
