Ravensburger Haus is a self-catering mountain hut in the Allgäu Alps, run by the Ravensburg section of the German Alpine Club (DAV). It's a welcoming base designed for families, groups, school trips, and summer or winter camps rather than a high-alpine refuge - a friendly starting point for gentle mountain adventures.
The hut sits near Steibis, close to the Nagelfluhkette range, surrounded by the rolling green pastures and forested slopes typical of this part of the Allgäu. In summer, the area is perfect for relaxed hiking and family outings, while in winter it becomes a base for skiing, staying true to its origins as a ski hut. The atmosphere is calm and homely, ideal for those seeking a quieter alpine experience away from crowded peaks.

Practical information
The hut's story began in the 1960s when the Ravensburg section took over an unfinished wooden house near Steibis and turned it into a ski hut, later renovated and renamed Ravensburger Haus after major rebuilding work in the 1990s.
