Nestled at 1,218 m on the broad alpine meadow below Śnieżnik peak, the 'Na Śnieżniku' mountain hut is one of the oldest in Poland — and its history is written into every timber beam. Built in 1871 by a Swiss carpenter commissioned by Princess Marianne of Orange-Nassau, this so-called 'Schweizerei' (Swiss-style chalet) has been welcoming hikers for over 150 years. Expect a warm Sudeten welcome, hearty food, and sweeping mountain views.

The hut sits on the western slopes of Śnieżnik (1,425 m), surrounded by an open highland meadow that transforms with every season. Summer brings lush green grass and bright skies perfect for picnics and panoramic gazing; winter wraps everything in snow and silence. From the viewpoint next to the hut you can admire the Upper Nysa Graben and the surrounding peaks without breaking a sweat.

The hut is named after Zbigniew Fastnacht, who managed and lovingly restored it between 1982 and 2001 — a small but touching tribute to the people who keep mountain culture alive.
