Andrejev dom na Slemenu is a welcoming mountain hut set on a sunny clearing in the Pohorje range, ready to greet hikers throughout the year. Perched at 1167 m right by the Sleme pass, which links Styria and Carinthia, it is easy to reach both on foot and by car.
The surroundings offer fine views to the east and south — from the terrace you can see the hills descending toward the Šalek valley, the chimneys of the Šoštanj power plant, the Ponikva plateau, Mount Oljka, and the Savinja valley stretching toward Celje. A short walk east of the hut also reveals a view of Mount Smrekovec. To the west, dense forest blocks the view, giving the place a peaceful, woodland character that feels especially charming in autumn and winter, when snow blankets the surrounding meadows.
How to reach the hut
Practical information
The hut is named after Andrej Stegnar, the man who initiated its construction and long served as head of the local mountaineering society — a nice bit of history to reflect on while resting after your hike.
