The building itself dates back to the 19th century, originally known as the Postakocsi Fogadó (Coach Inn), serving postal workers and locals for decades. After functioning as a state-run tavern and pub through much of the 20th century, it was closed around the time of Hungary's political transition, then reopened in November 1992 as Kistücsök restaurant.
