Upłazkowa Przełączka is a quiet, rugged saddle tucked between two peaks in the Western Tatras, offering a slice of untamed mountain scenery away from the busiest trails of the Kościeliska Valley.

Sitting at roughly 1600 m, the pass links Upłazkowa Turnia (1640 m) with the massif of Upłaziańska Kopa (1796 m). It forms part of a ridge that runs from Równia nad Karczmą, through Upłaziańska Turnia and Saturn, down to the floor of the Kościeliska Valley. To the west, steep slopes drop into the Pisaniarski Żleb gully, while to the east they fall into the glacial cirque of Przednie Kamienne. The terrain here is built of limestone and dolomite, covered with low alpine turf that bursts into bloom with mountain wildflowers each summer. The surrounding jagged rock formations and deep gullies create a wild, dramatic atmosphere, especially striking under the low light of morning or late afternoon.

The pass was once known as Przełączka nad Pisaną, named after the nearby Polana Pisana meadow — a reminder of the older highlander names once used across these slopes.
