Obidza (938 m a.s.l.) is a wide, shallow mountain pass along the main ridge of the Radziejowa Range in the Beskid Sądecki mountains — and one of the finest viewpoints in the entire region. From the grassy meadows of the Litawcowa clearing on its southern side, you are rewarded with a sweeping panorama stretching all the way to the Pieniny and the Tatra Mountains. This is the kind of place you recommend to a friend without hesitation.
The pass sits between Mały Rogacz (1162 m) and an inconspicuous ridge summit of 943 m, making it a relatively gentle notch in the landscape. The northern slopes are wrapped in forest, which shields the pass from cold winds and blocks views to that side — but the south opens up beautifully onto open grassland and those legendary mountain vistas. In winter, with clear skies, the snow-capped Tatras look almost unreal from here. In summer the air is soft, the meadows are green, and it is an ideal spot to simply sit and breathe. Just above the pass, on the slopes of Mały Rogacz, a large old beech tree marks the junction of two hiking trails, adorned with a small roadside chapel — a charming landmark that has greeted hikers for generations.
How to reach the viewpointThe source of the Biała Woda stream begins just below the southern side of the pass — a quiet reminder that even small mountain crossings can be the origin of something greater.
