Mechy is a broad saddle on the north-eastern ridge of Kasprowy Wierch, a quiet spot that sees very few visitors compared to the busy summit nearby. If you're looking for a genuinely peaceful corner of the Tatras away from marked trails, this is one of those hidden pockets of wilderness.

The pass sits at 1662 meters above sea level, between Mały Uhrociem Kasprowy and Kopa Magury. Its eastern slopes descend towards Hala Gąsienicowa, while the western side drops into Stare Szałasiska, a branch of the Kasprowa Valley. The saddle itself is a small clearing entirely enclosed by dwarf pine thickets, creating a secluded, intimate atmosphere rather different from the open panoramas found elsewhere in the region. The viewpoint appeal is modest, but the raw character of the dwarf pine scrub and surrounding ridgelines has its own quiet charm, appreciated by those who enjoy lesser-known corners of the Western Tatras.
