The Szulakiewicz Couloir is a spot in the High Tatras that will appeal far more to seasoned climbers than casual hikers — a steep, rugged gully on the northern walls of Cubryna, dropping down toward Morskie Oko lake. It's a place for those chasing genuine alpine adventure rather than a scenic stroll.

The couloir descends from the saddle behind Turnia Zwornikowa in a northerly direction, forming the western boundary of that peak's massif. Its elevation difference is around 210 meters, and at about 1740 m it merges with the Mnich Couloir as its right-hand branch. The route is marked by overhanging rock walls on the left side, while the right slopes consist partly of slabs and partly of grassy patches, with several rock steps breaking up the climb. In winter, the couloir is usually blanketed almost entirely in snow, drawing ski mountaineers — it was here in 2000 that the first ski descent of the route was made.

The couloir was named by Władysław Cywiński in honor of climber Stanisław Szulakiewicz, who together with Józef Bizoń made the first ascent of this route in 1907.
