Bukówka Reservoir is one of the highest-situated dam lakes in Poland, nestled in the scenic Bóbr river valley among the hills of Lower Silesia. Sitting at a crown elevation of over 537 m above sea level, the air here is crisp and invigorating. In summer the reservoir glimmers under open skies, while autumn transforms the surrounding forests into a blaze of warm colour. Almost the entire shoreline is natural, giving Bukówka a genuinely wild feel — only the village of Miszkowice is protected by a side embankment. The views across the water towards the mountain ridges are simply lovely in every season.

A remarkable historical footnote: when the catastrophic flood of July 1997 swept through the region, the Bukówka Reservoir reduced the first flood wave by an impressive 87.1%, protecting communities downstream along the Bóbr river.
