Niedów Reservoir, commonly known as Witka, is a scenic artificial lake in Lower Silesia that draws visitors looking for lakeside relaxation, fishing, or a quiet walk along the water. Built between 1958 and 1962 on the Witka River, it now serves flood control, hydropower, and recreational purposes.

The surrounding landscape is open and calm, with the lake stretching roughly 4 km in length. In summer the shores come alive with holiday resorts, beaches, and anglers, while in autumn and winter the lake takes on a quieter, more reflective mood, perfect for longer walks. With an average depth of 3.1 m and up to 12 m near the dam, the reservoir also hides a piece of local history beneath its surface — former farmsteads and the ruins of a historic palace were submerged during its creation.

Interestingly, in 2010 the reservoir was the site of a dramatic flood disaster, when overflowing water breached the dam and sent a flood wave all the way to the Lusatian Neisse River. Today, though, Niedów is above all a peaceful spot worth visiting with family or friends.
