Perched at 1,350 metres above sea level on the summit plateau of Dlouhé stráně mountain in the Jeseníky range, this artificial lake holds a remarkable distinction: it is the highest-altitude body of water in the entire Czech Republic. What greets you here is genuinely surprising — a vast rectangular basin of water enclosed by walls rising up to 60 metres, with sweeping mountain views in every direction. Engineering ambition and alpine scenery meet in one unforgettable spot.

The reservoir covers 15.4 hectares and reaches a maximum depth of 26 metres. The surrounding embankment dam stretches 1,750 metres in length, making a full loop along its crest a rewarding walk with panoramic views over the Jeseníky highlands. In summer the water catches a brilliant blue against the open sky, while autumn wraps the surroundings in warm golden tones. Winter transforms the place into something almost Arctic in mood — raw, windswept, and quietly spectacular.
