Tucked away in the High Tatras between the southeastern ridge of Zadný Holý vrch and Veľká kopa, Turkova dolina is one of those rare wild corners that feels truly untouched. This small, quiet side valley branches off to the right from Kôprová dolina, lying just southwest of Garajová dolina — and it appears on almost no tourist itinerary.

The valley has a raw, primeval character. Steep slopes, dense vegetation and an almost complete absence of human infrastructure make it a place where nature truly rules. In spring, melting snow feeds the slopes with life; summer brings lush greenery and birdsong; autumn transforms the hillsides with rich colour; and winter renders the valley essentially inaccessible and demanding even for experienced mountaineers. The atmosphere throughout the seasons is one of deep solitude and wilderness.

The valley's name carries a fascinating historical echo: it comes from the Türck family (Türkovci), mining entrepreneurs from Hybice who in the 17th century operated mines near Kriváň and played a significant role in the history of Spiš mining.
