Troiśniak, also known as the Frog Ponds (Żabie Stawki), is a group of small tarns tucked away in the western part of the Zielona Gąsienicowa Valley. It is not a dramatic landmark, but a quiet, atmospheric spot where you can pause and enjoy the stillness of the Tatras away from the busier trails.

The ponds sit at the mouth of the Sucha Stawiańska Valley, in the area known as Roztoka Stawiańska, just a short walk from the lower station of the Kasprowy Wierch chairlift. The setting is classic High Tatra terrain - rocky ground, dwarf mountain pine, and views of the surrounding ridges. Water levels vary noticeably with the seasons: after heavy rain the ponds fill and come alive, while during dry summers they can shrink or even disappear entirely, giving the place a slightly mysterious, ever-changing character.

• Lower station of the Kasprowy Wierch chairlift - the ponds are about 100 m to the south, a short and easy walk

• The ponds are home to protected alpine and Carpathian newts as well as common frogs
• Water levels change seasonally - the ponds can dry out completely during hot summers

Although the name suggests three ponds, today only the middle one, Troiśniak Pośredni, remains reasonably well preserved - the upper pond has almost vanished and only reappears as a small puddle after heavy rainfall.
