The Stollberg Reservoir, also known as Querenbach Reservoir, is a peaceful body of water tucked into the hills of the Ore Mountains, just a short distance from the town of Stollberg. This is a spot for those who crave quiet nature rather than crowded beaches - swimming is strictly forbidden here, as the reservoir supplies drinking water to the region.

The landscape around the dam is classic Ore Mountains scenery - gentle, forested hills, a calm water surface, and a stillness broken only by birdsong. The earthen dam with its inclined clay core blends naturally into the surroundings, and the water intake tower standing in the lake adds a distinctive touch. In autumn the surrounding forests turn brilliant colors, while in winter mist often settles over the water, lending the place an almost mystical mood. It's an ideal spot for a relaxed walk or a short bike ride.
