Tobiášův vrch is a small, treeless hill rising from the farmland of the western Bohemian Uplands (České středohoří) — a hidden gem for anyone who loves rare steppe flora and quiet, off-the-beaten-path landscapes. This unassuming hill hides one of the richest botanical treasures in northern Bohemia.

The terrain is open and gentle, with grassy slopes that burst into color each spring as feather grasses, pasque flowers and pheasant's eye bloom across the hillside. In summer the steppe grasses turn golden under the sun, while the surrounding patchwork of fields adds to the peaceful, remote atmosphere. There are no crowds here — just wide views over the rolling volcanic landscape of the Bohemian Uplands and a rare sense of untouched nature.

How to get there

• From the village of Kozly — no marked trail, easy walk across fields, approx. 15-20 minutes
• Can be combined with a longer trip from Louny (approx. 11 km south) or Bílina (approx. 10 km north)

Practical information

• The hill is a protected nature monument (přírodní památka) — stay on existing paths and do not pick plants
• Home to the critically endangered eastern pasque flower (Pulsatilla patens) — one of the few sites in northern Bohemia
• No official marked hiking trail leads to the summit

Interestingly, two species of pasque flower grow here side by side and even hybridize, producing a rare cross found in only a handful of places in the country.
