The Rohrmoos Valley, also called Starzlachtal, is a peaceful valley in the Allgäu Alps west of Oberstdorf. It offers a quieter alternative to the busier trails nearby, with small hamlets, alpine pastures, and a genuine mountain atmosphere.

The valley is shaped by the Starzlach stream, which rises near Rohrmoos, close to the European watershed, and flows all the way down to its confluence with the Breitach, just below the famous Breitach Gorge. The landscape here is classic Allgäu - gentle forested slopes, alpine meadows on both sides of the valley, and views toward the Engenkopf. In summer the valley has a calm, pastoral rhythm, while in winter the snow-covered slopes make it a peaceful spot away from the crowds.

The most important settlement in the valley is Rohrmoos, home to a cozy inn and the oldest wooden chapel in southern Germany, the St. Anna Chapel, well worth a visit for its history and architecture. Close to the Austrian border lies the small hamlet of Hirschgund.
